with Leonard Küßner

Date: Sat 29.11. – Sun 30.11.2025
Registration deadline: to be announced
Target group: Advanced

The two-day practice-orientated seminar offers insights into the working environment and processes of a film music composer. In the theoretical units, information on the industry, studio set-up, composing to picture, transfer to music notation as well as in-depth discussions on virtual instruments, signal chains and computer setups will be discussed. In practical sessions, participants can try out and apply what they have learnt themselves.

The following questions will be clarified in the seminar:

  • How do I set up my studio setup?
  • What are the possibilities of composing on image?
  • How do I transfer my music from a DAW to a score?
  • How do I establish an efficient working environment?
  • How do I prepare recordings?
  • How does communication with the team work?
  • How do I get my first jobs?

The workshop is aimed at advanced participants who have experience with a DAW, play an instrument and can read music. The examples in the presentation will be given in the DAW Cubase and the notation programmes Sibelius and Dorico.
