Target group: Advanced students, people with experience in screenwriting
In 2025, the practice-oriented workshop will once again offer a comprehensive programme for aspiring screenwriters. Participants will develop their ideas from initial inspiration through to a professional story in the form of a treatment during on-site weekend sessions and additional online consultations.
In the theoretical part of the workshop, advanced storytelling techniques are taught that enable participants to build their stories systematically and methodically. The material is developed step by step, accompanied by regular feedback in small groups and online sessions. The highlight of the programme is the presentation of the developed stories in a pitch in front of industry representatives during the Münster Film Festival.
On the way there, the participants will work on the material with a view to the following aspects:
- How do I generate a story idea?
- How do I recognise whether a story idea has potential?
- How do I develop characters, plot and theme to suit my story idea?
- How do I structure my story in an exciting way and with narrative drive?
- How do I design motifs, setting and atmosphere to suit my story?
- How do I process and give feedback in a writing group?
Are you interested? Then please send us the following documents in addition to your application by e-mail only:
- 1 x A4 page idea sketch (the plot of the story does not have to be worked out yet, as it will be developed together during the workshop).
