With Elisa May
The following questions will be clarified in the seminar:
- How are release strategies for arthouse films conceived and what options are there?
- How can a rental company be found and does the collaboration work?
- Who is the target group and what tools can be used to reach them?
- How can a narrative be developed for a marketing campaign?
These questions will be answered with the help of practical examples and provide a basis for an exchange on the participants’ projects.
The seminar is aimed at filmmakers with initial or no experience in releasing films, but who are currently working on a film project.
Elisa May is co-founder and managing director of KERN DES GANZEN, an agency for film communication based in Cologne. The focus of her work is on the conception of communication campaigns for socio-political film. The aim is to initiate dialogues in society with films and thus drive social change. The agency was founded in 2020 and was supported with a grant from the Mediengründerzentrum NRW. She previously headed the home entertainment distribution division at film distributor mindjazz pictures for three years and took part in numerous training programmes at international film festivals. Elisa May has a bachelor’s degree in media management and is a trained media designer for image and sound.
