At the next regulars table on 10 March 2026, the CONNECT Short Film Festival Unna will introduce itself. Giuliana Barthel and Moritz J. W. Doetsch will be visiting. The festival primarily offers young filmmakers a stage and connects students from various NRW universities. It facilitates access to relevant industry institutions for up-and-coming talent and enables film enthusiasts to discover regional short films and enter into dialogue with the artists.
Giuliana Barthel studied film and directing at the Ruhrakademie Schwerte. As part of her studies, she has already realised several short films, including Mutters Wunsch, 10.119 and Grenzjäger. She has also been working as a junior producer at 5.9 Filmproduktion since 2022. In the same year, she founded the Connect short film festival, which is dedicated to promoting young talent in NRW and offers students and up-and-coming filmmakers a stage on the big screen.
Moritz J. W. Doetsch grew up in Mülheim-Kärlich in Rhineland-Palatinate and moved to Schwerte in 2020 to study directing at the Ruhrakademie. He successfully completed his studies in 2024 and shot his graduation film Gamechanger. He has been studying sound design at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts since October 2025.
All filmmakers from Münster and the region are invited to the regulars table. We offer time and space to facilitate dialogue and promote networking. Each meeting focuses on a different topic, which can be introduced by a keynote speech. Our regulars’ table is open to your own ideas: get involved and actively help shape the regulars’ table.
The participation is free of charge.
