Disposable

The short film Disposable tells the story of the fictional homeless man Marco. He is one of many, of many that we could meet at any time in any city. And yet we know almost nothing.

The film was produced by Butchers & Dutchess and funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the NRW regional cultural programme. Filmwerkstatt Münster also supported the production by providing technical equipment and personnel support.

Description of the content:

In an emotional rollercoaster ride, we follow the homeless Marco on his night-time tour of Münster. He meets Michelle and Johannes outside a kiosk, who buy him a beer. Although they are interested at first, his inappropriate behaviour quickly turns them against him. Expelled for good reason, he finally encounters a group of youths on his way home who kick him to death in a senseless and senseless manner. But who is ultimately to blame for his fate is a question with which this film leaves the viewer alone.

Directors Statement

It was only towards the end of September 2024 that the Federal Ministry of the Interior published figures showing that violent offences against homeless people have almost doubled in the last 6 years. But this is rarely reported. Only if it was particularly spectacular because the perpetrators were young people or people with a migration background. Because in our world, in which we tell ourselves that we can achieve anything with performance, the weakest must logically not have achieved enough.
