World premiere of “VERTRAUENSMANN”

On Monday, 8 April 2024, Hugo Schmidt’s documentary celebrated its world premiere in a packed cinema as part of the filmclub Münster.

On Monday, 8 April 2024, the documentary “Vertrauensmann” by Hugo Schmidt celebrated its premiere as part of the filmclub Münster. Many visitors gathered in the cinema hall of the Schloßtheater to watch the filmmaker’s debut film.

The screening was followed by an audience discussion in the cinema auditorium, during which the emotionally moved viewers engaged in a lively discussion about the film. The Filmservice Münster(land) hosted a reception in the catering area of the Schloßtheater afterwards.

The film itself tells the story of the physically disabled Franz-Josef Sauer’s search for his own identity through his eventful life. Hugo Schmidt sensitively accompanies his journey through doubt and shame to an open and proud acceptance of his own disability.

Thanks to the packed cinema, the positive atmosphere and of course the convincing film, the premiere was a complete success.

How the film will continue and which screening dates will take place is not yet fixed. However, we and Hugo Schmidt will report back.

We at Filmwerkstatt Münster were delighted to be able to support the film together with Filmservice Münster.Land. The production of a barrier-free version (subtitles) was financed by the City of Münster, Social Welfare Office.
