Personal report by Amechi Oji:
My name is Amechi Oji and together with my neighbour Jakob Bey I realise my own film projects under the label Omenkà. We are currently working on the final version of our 2025 medium-length film Ich Spürs.
Against this background, it was particularly exciting to be part of the international exchange at Screen Talent Europe for two days and to take away new ideas for our upcoming projects.
The programme included two workshops. One on pitching with Lisa Keiner and another on International co-productions with Samir Arabzadeh. Both offered valuable insights into working methods, structures and opportunities for collaboration across national borders. I gained a lot of new knowledge in the area of co-production in particular, especially with regard to funding structures and finding partners. These perspectives will play an important role in the conceptualisation and financing of future projects.
In addition to the workshops, the exchange with other filmmakers was particularly inspiring. It was impressive to get to know so many committed and talented individuals, from whose experiences and perspectives I was able to learn a lot. I very much hope that our paths will cross again in the future and I am sure that we will be hearing from some of the talents soon.
