Friendship is magic! Friendship is tragic!
Do you love films on the big screen? Would you like to have a say in the cinema programme? And would you like to share your enthusiasm for a film with others and discuss it together after the credits have rolled?
We invite you to submit your film ideas, which you would like to realise and present together with the filmclub münster .
For the 2025 programme, we are looking for films about friendship. Which films show us how extraordinary, complicated and at the same time beautiful and vital friendships are? What characterises them? Where does friendship become a force that not only unites, but also offers resistance and is political? Is friendship always magical or sometimes tragic?
For example, you can suggest
- Film series that take on new perspectives and focus on specific groups, languages, cultures and regions of the world;
- Individual screenings or events that work in a playful way and surprise the filmclub community;
- Discussion events that deal with the question of what film can, should and may do.
Send us your suggestions by 15 November 2024 by email to info@filmwerkstatt-muenster.de. Your proposal should consist of a maximum of one DIN A4 page as a PDF.
The filmclub münster selects around five films from all the proposals. It provides them with a budget for film licences, screening venues and guests.
Your curatorial and organisational work will be remunerated with a lump sum. In the event of collaboration, all parties involved agree to a code of conduct (see here https:// filmclub-muenster.de/code-of-conduct/).
Feedback on your proposals will be provided in 2024 and the selection will be implemented by filmclub münster in the course of 2025.
The filmclub münster is the oldest film club still in existence in Germany. It was founded in June 1948 to promote independent, artistic film. We regularly curate thematic film series, which are presented in the Schloßtheater cinema, among other venues. The aim of the film club is to experience film in its many different forms and at the same time to create spaces for encounters and discourse.
The filmclub münster is supported by the Filmwerkstatt Münster, the Münstersche Filmtheater-Betriebe, the Westfälischer Kunstverein and Burg Hülshoff – Center for Literature and funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
