January and February belong to a series of film pleas, which are presented with a personal introduction: “Call for Participation” participant Lars Schellhase presents the science fiction classic “Logan’s Run. Escape into the 23rd Century” from 1976 (Mon 27 January), the outgoing Filmwerkstatt director Daniel Huhn will show “Return to Dust”, a sensitive drama about two outsiders in rural China (Wed 05 February, at Cinema!). Levko Kondratjuk from Camera Obscura will present “Nichts bereuen”, a coming of age story with Daniel Brühl (Mon 10 February) and the Falken Münster will make a plea for “Ghost World”, a subversive iconic comedy about two nerdy teenagers in a ghostly world (Mon 24 February).

Films from the former Soviet republics will be screened in the open-air space as part of the “Cinema Ost” film series (16-30 March), while the final projects from the Visual Anthropology degree programme will also be presented (Mon 05 March) and the essay film “Schilderwechsel – 50 Jahre Gebietsreform im Münsterland” (Mon 12 May).

This year’s theme is all about friendship: three drag queens are on a flashy road trip through the Australian outback (“Priscilla – Queen of the Desert”, Mon 7 April), one of the most important films of the 90s can be seen (“Thelma and Louise”, Mon 19 May) or the touching story of an intimate friendship that ends tragically (“Close”, Mon 26 May). With “Frances Ha” (Mon 2 June) and “The Second Awakening of Christa Klages” (Mon 23 June), the filmclub münster then bids farewell to the summer break.
