MÜNSTER FILM FESTIVAL 2023

Inspiring, stirring, entertaining – that was the programme of the 20th Münster Film Festival – it will return in autumn 2025 – the LITFILMS Literature Film Festival Münster will take place in September 2024.

For ten days, the festival celebrated European film and delighted its audience with a varied programme at the Schloßtheater Münster. This year’s award winners are: The coming-of-age drama “I Have Electric Dreams” by director and screenwriter Valentina Maurel won the main prize of 5,000 euros in the European First Feature Film Competition. The short film “Mitläufer” by Frederic Kau was honoured in the European Short Film Competition category, while “Gedanken eines jungen Menschen beim Anblick einer sich auflösenden Welt” by Jonathan Berlin received an honourable mention. The Audience Award went to the short film “Tuulikki” by Teemu Nikki. The following films were honoured in the Westfalen Connection category: “Morgen irgendwo am Meer” (feature film) by Patrick Büchting and “Die Spökenkiekerin und das Fräulein” (short film) by Mark Lorei.

The Münster Film Festival returns in autumn 2025. Next year, the third edition of the LITFILMS Literatur Film Festival Münster will take place from 20 to 29 September.
