One writer and one filmmaker will come together for three months to work together artistically to “change perspectives” (the leitmotif of LITFILM 2024) on literature and film.
The work does not have to be completely finished during the residency period, but should at least be presented and discussed as a showcase on a larger scale at the end of the LITFILMS Literatur Film Festival Münster (20 to 29 September 2024) .
Residents are given artistic freedom as well as organisational and technical support from the festival and the film workshop for their work(s). They are expected to work on site for a large part of the time, but an exclusive presence on site is not required.
In addition to their own work, there should be a lively exchange with the curatorial planning of the festival so that there is a link between their work and the festival programme (for example in the selection of locations, guests and works). It is desirable that impulses from the resident artists are included in the festival programme in addition to the exhibition of their own work.
Period:
Three months of attendance between May and September inclusive
Location:
Partly in Münster, partly in Münsterland
Remuneration:
1,500 per month plus accommodation and travel expenses as well as a workplace and (by arrangement) a production cost subsidy
There is no age limit.
However, you should have completed your training or studies.
Tandem applications are welcome, individual applications are also possible.
The application can be submitted informally, in a single PDF file and contain the following information on a maximum of 10 pages:
- Curriculum vitae
- Artistic profile with publications or filmography
- Letter with a short motivation statement
Please send your application by e-mail only to:
Submission deadline: 15 December 2023
Call forResidency 2024

We will bring together a writer and a filmmaker for a period of three months to explore a “change of perspective” (the leitmotif of LITFILMS 2024) of literature and film in an artistic cooperation and let their research and observations create something unique – an artistic work that moves in the in-between space of both artforms.
The work does not have to be completed in its entirety during the residency period, but should at least be presented and discussed as a work in progress in a larger setting at the end of the festival (20 – 29 September 2024).
Residents will receive artistic freedom as well as organizational and technical support from the festival and the Filmwerkstatt Münster for their work(s).
They are expected to mainly work in the area yet full-time presence is not required. In addition to their own work, they are offered to co-curate parts of the festival to establish a link between their work and the festival programme.
