LITFILMS – Artists in Residence

This year’s “Artists in Residence” of the LITFILMS Literature Film Festival Münster, the Cologne artists Son Lewandowski and Rike Hoppse, have started their stay in the region.

Rike Hoppse and Son Lewandowski will spend the next three months in Rheine and Münster and dedicate their time to a literary-filmic “Journal of Failure”.

For their residencies in Rheine and Münster, they bring along the
mobile Künstler:innenkabine (MoKk), which serves both as a research location and as a low-threshold stage space for their filmic and literary practice. The MoKk, a mobile meeting space in the form of a former sales trailer, offers the opportunity to come into contact with passers-by during the research: “We believe that we can bring an experimental setting to the film festival through this mobile, third location and that the MoKk can broaden the festival’s scope as an extended arm,” says filmmaker Hoppse and writer Lewandowski about their project.

Her work will be shown at the end of the residency as part of the LITFILMS Festival, which takes place from 20 to 29 September 2024. The leitmotif of the third edition of the festival, which is unique in Germany and is dedicated to the complex field of tension between film and literature and offers both art forms a platform in a variety of ways, is “Change of Perspective” this year.

The full programme will be announced at the end of August.

LITFILMS takes place in and around Münster. The venues include the Schloßtheater, the LWL Museum of Art and Culture, Kloster Bentlage Rheine and many more.
