From 11.09. – 17.09.23 LETsDOK celebrates documentary film. With over 300 film screenings, film talks and special events nationwide, the “Association for the Promotion of Documentary Film Culture” is focussing on the social relevance and aesthetic quality of documentary film with the LETsDOK action days.
The following events are taking place in Münster and the surrounding area until 18 September.

“Back to Borken” | Directed by Daniel Huhn
Reading from his book “Rückeroberung” with Daniel Huhn. The film “Back to Borken” will be shown after the reading.
13.09.23 |Cinema & Kurbelkiste | 7.00 pm
“Jonny Island” | D: Petra Mäussnest
It is important to Jonathan “Jonny” Schüddekopf to show his pupils how good life can be in a community when everyone looks out for each other and no one is excluded. But then comes Corona. Followed by a film discussion with the director Petra Mäussnest

“Daniel Richter” | D: Pepe Danquart
Only a few artist portraits give us the privilege of getting so close to a world-famous painter as if we had free access to his studio. Pepe Danquart was allowed to accompany the painter Daniel Richter with his camera for three years.
The film will be followed by a discussion with director Pepe Danquart. The artist, who is regarded as one of the most important contemporary German abstract painters of the present day, was asked to take part in the discussion.

HUMAN/NATURE & Don’t forget Meyn
Five documentary short films “Human/Nature”, which focus on the relationship between man and nature. The artistic documentaries were created as part of a project by Filmwerkstatt Münster 2022 in Münsterland. The documentary film “Vergiss Meyn Nicht” by Fabiana Fragale, Kilian Kuhlendahl and Jens Mühlhoff will also be screened.

“Shadow Boxers” | Directed by Katya Bankowsky
A portrait of Dutch martial artist Lucia Rijker, who has boxed her way to the top in the ring.
