From 31 October, the LWL will be showing the Filmwerkstatt production DIE BERKEL – VON DER QUELLE BIS ZUR MÜNDUNG on its YouTube channel “Westfalen im Film”. For their documentary film, German filmmaker Anna Schlottbohm and Dutch journalist Willem Kootstra travelled along the river from its source to its mouth, tracing the border and interviewing people about the region’s identity-forming characteristics. The result is a loving, calm film portrait of a divided and neglected region with great potential.
