2025, the Filmwerkstatt Münster is once again supporting four film projects by up-and-coming filmmakers from the region that are currently in development. The jury was impressed by the large number and high quality of the submissions, which once again underlines the lively and growing independent film scene in the region. In intensive discussions with numerous questions, it became clear that the 17 submitted projects reflect the strength of both the up-and-coming filmmakers and the region’s film scene.

In terms of content, many film projects deal with global political developments and reflect on personal and social issues. The variety of projects submitted ranges from classic documentaries and feature films to hybrid and experimental formats.

The Filmwerkstatt Münster remains committed to making the independent film scene more visible and strengthening it in the long term.

On Friday 28 February, the jury, consisting of Jan-Christoph Tonigs, LeijlaAliev and Asbirg Naranj, met with the management, consisting of Anna Schlottbohm and Steffi Köhler, at the Filmwerkstatt Münster.

The subsidised filmmakers not only receive financial support for the development of their material, but also benefit from regular advice. They also have access to technical resources and can take part in the film workshop’s seminars free of charge.
