Co-curates the programme of the filmclub münster!
The filmclub münster is the oldest film club still in existence in Germany. It was founded in June 1948 to promote independent, artistic film. We regularly curate themed film series, which are presented in the Schloßtheater cinema and other venues. The aim of the filmclub’s work is still to experience film in its many different forms and at the same time to create spaces for encounters and discourse.
We as the filmclub team want to open up this platform. We are looking for you: people from the urban and rural community who want to get involved. We invite you to submit your own ideas for new film series and screening formats, which you can realise (in collaboration with filmclub münster).
These can be, for example
- Film series (usually at least three dates) that set thematic accents in the film programme and take on new perspectives;
- Individual events that rethink and, if necessary, reposition film screening;
- Discussion events that deal with questions of film cultures.
If you are interested, please send us your proposals by 31 October 2023 by email to info(at)filmwerkstatt-muenster.de. A proposal consists of a maximum of one DIN A4 page as a PDF. A budget is available from filmclub münster for film licences, screening venues and guests. Your curatorial and organisational work will be remunerated – as required and scaled – within the framework of a flat-rate expense allowance. In the event of a collaboration, all participants agree to a code of conduct, a kind of guiding principle for joint interaction, which filmclub münster is currently developing.
A decision on inclusion in the programme will be made in 2023. Depending on the planning lead time, the selected proposals can be implemented in the course of 2024. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
The filmclub münster is supported by the Filmwerkstatt Münster, the Münstersche Filmtheater-Betriebe, the Westfälischer Kunstverein and Burg Hülshoff – Center for Literature and funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
