Dear friends of the Filmwerkstatt Münster,
under the motto “…UND der Film AUCH.” (engl. “…and so is the film.”), the Filmwerkstatt Münster would like to remind you again and again that film continues to be seen and considered as an art form.
Film as an art form touches people directly because it makes stories visually and emotionally tangible. It creates space for perspectives that would otherwise often remain unheard and thus promotes empathy and understanding. Thanks to its broad accessibility, film can make social grievances visible and initiate debates – an important contribution to democracy. As an art form, it unites many creative disciplines and remains one of the most powerful forms of expression of our time.
Film always moves between art, culture and business – that’s what makes it exciting. The Filmwerkstatt Münster wants to continue to actively shape this interface: supporting productions, making film culture in the region more visible and strengthening Münster as a film location.
The Filmwerkstatt Münster sees itself as part of the independent film scene – with a strong network, open structure and plenty of potential.
And that’s why over and over again “UND der Film AUCH.” (engl. “…and so is the film.”).
