45 years of Filmwerkstatt Münster – 50 years of Duisburger Filmwoche – together we present from 3 to 6 may a programme with discussion and film contributions

To mark 45 years of Filmwerkstatt Münster and 50 years of Duisburger Filmwoche, we cordially invite you to a joint discussion with Horst Herz, Rainer Komers and Filippa Bauer (moderated by Katharina Schröder) – two anniversaries, two institutions linked by a shared history in auteur documentary film

In co-operation with the Duisburger Filmwoche, the filmclub münster will then show three documentary films entitled “Text in Szene”, which move on the border between literature and reality, memory and fiction.

The dreamers

Ruth Beckermann’s film is based on the almost 20-year correspondence between the poet Ingeborg Bachmann and the poet Paul Celan. This will be followed by a film discussion with Kai Sina (University of Münster), moderated by Frida Horstmann.

René Frölke’s film consists of fragments with vague connections; it does not paint a coherent portrait of the Romanian writer Norman Manea. The subsequent discussion with director René Frölke will be moderated by Alexander Scholz.
