Haus Kummerveldt in the arte media centre

From 6 July 2023, “Haus Kummerveldt” will have a home in the Arte media library!

From 6 July 2023, “Haus Kummerveldt” will be available in full length in the ARTE Mediathek and in winter also in the ARD Mediathek.

Filming took place in August and September 2022 in Brandenburg’s forests, at Studio Babelsberg and in Münsterland at Haus Welbergen, Burg Hülshoff and Haus Rüschhaus.

The film was directed by Mark Lorei from Münsterland, who wrote the screenplay together with authors Cècil Joyce Röski and Charlotte Krafft. Lotte Ruf (Goldstoff Filme) produced the series with the film production companies Goldstoff Filme and Outside The Club. The project was co-produced by WDR, ZDF/ARTE, Filmwerkstatt Münster e. V., the Centre for Literature and GUCC grafik und film. The project was supported by the Film- & Medienstiftung NRW, the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the Ministry of Culture and Science NRW, the Regional Culture Programme (RKP) NRW, the LWL-Kulturstiftung, the project Schlösser- und Burgenregion Münsterland (EU), the Sparkassenstiftung für den Kreis Coesfeld, the Kulturstiftung der Westfälischen Provinzial Versicherung, the Kreis Borken, as well as the Münsterland e.V..

Following the festival success of the pilot episodes (including the Max Ophüls Prize 2020, First Steps Award, 2020 Series Camp 2020), all six episodes will now be broadcast on ARTE and subsequently be available online in the ARTE Mediathek. In winter, the series will also be available in the ARD Mediathek.

In addition to Milena Straube (Luise von Kummerveldt), the cast once again includes Wolf Danny Homann (Dr Büchner), Marcel Becker-Neu (Veit von Kummerveldt), Leonie Rainer (Ida von Kummerveldt), Fabian Nolte (house servant Hermann-Josef) and Justine Hauer (Miss Racket). Cennet Voß (Miss Knecht), Niklas Bruhn (Dr Albert Knecht) and Rosa Lembeck (housemaid Karla) complete the ensemble in new roles.

The award-winning series can be seen for the first time in full length and on the big screen on 15 June 2023 at the series camp festival at Cinenova in Cologne-Ehrenfeld at 5.45 pm: “Now it’s literally going into extra time for the budding writer Luise von Kummerveldt. Not only has the web series already shown been edited into longer pilot episodes, but with three more episodes, the smart, feminist and absolutely contemporary look back is almost turning into something of a historical event series.”
