The Filmwerkstatt Münster received 24 exciting applications in response to the call for development funding. Not only the number, but above all the high quality of the applications shows how lively the independent film scene in the region is. Thematically, many of the films deal with global political events, personal reflection and the examination of various topics. The forms cover the entire spectrum of film culture – from documentaries and feature films to hybrid formats and experimental approaches. We are delighted by the great interest and diversity of the submissions. It was therefore not easy to make a selection.
On Friday 10 March, the jury consisting of Asbirg Naranjo, Kathrin Hartmann and Jan Enste met with the management at the Filmwerkstatt Münster. After intensive discussions, four projects were selected to receive financial support in the development of their material. The teams will also receive regular advice, the possibility of technical support and the opportunity to take part in seminars organised by the Filmwerkstatt free of charge.
The sponsors were: Hugo Schmidt, Shadi Tabibzadeh and the two teams Nina Romming & Thomas Küper and Jakob Bey & Amechi Oji.
The filmmakers will meet soon and present their projects.
