For the Droste Festival, from 30 June to 2 July, the garden in the Rüschhaus will be transformed into the setting for a three-day live role-playing game. The large game board will be used to search for common land, a common form of economy in Annette von Droste-Hülshoff’s time. (Photo: “Who owns my village”)
The Filmwerkstatt Münster and the filmclub münster will be there with film screenings:

The documentary film follows Eva, who has been living her life publicly and online since the age of 14. At 17, she leaves her small hometown in Italy and moves to Berlin. She embodies multiple identities as a model, a feminist, a queer author and a self-determined sex worker. (Photo: Pia Hellenthal)

Birdwatchers
Film screening by Marco Bechis
Garden room
White landowners in Mato Grosso do Sul, a Brazilian federal state, live from the cultivation of genetically modified plants or birdwatching tours for tourists. The Guarani-Kaiowá, on the other hand, who are hired for these tours as a photo attraction, live in reserves away from the fertile plantations, displaced from the land that once belonged to them. And it is this seemingly hopeless existence that triggers the revolution.

In September 2014, Münster-based artist Wilm Weppelmann spent day and night on a self-built and self-sufficient garden island as part of an ongoing performance. His strictly regimented daily routine also included the role of a town crier, loudly addressing basic human needs. (Photo: Wim Weppelmann)

Who owns my village?
Film screening by Christoph Eder

Who owns my village? is a personal film about the nature of democracy. Between white seaside resort architecture and the gentle sound of the sea, director Christoph Eder uses the example of his home village to show that nowhere is political co-determination as direct as in local politics.
