Kino aufs Land (engl. Cinema in the countryside) – next stop: Dumte!
A cinema evening in an old asparagus house? That could be a first! As part of Kino aufs Land, the Filmwerkstatt Münster is touring the Münsterland with a projector, popcorn machine and hand-picked films.
On the Day of “Dritte Orte” (engl. “Third places”), 5 July 2025, we will be setting up our screen at the Große-Kleimann farm, a “dritter Ort” in Dumte near Steinfurt – with a varied film programme for young and old. Starting at 4 p.m., we will be showing a selected children’s short film programme that focuses on the special relationship between human and nature in keeping with the location. The main film DER WILDE WALD by Lisa Eder starts at 6 pm.
In the subsequent film discussion, we invite the audience to exchange ideas and look together at cinematic narrative forms outside urban centres.
Admission is based on donations, recommended donation: 5 euros. Donations will be accepted in cash on site. Click here to register.
The “Kino aufs Land” project is funded by the RKP – Regionales Kultur Programm NRW of the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia and the LWL-Kulturstiftung.
more information about the film:

“Let nature be nature” is the philosophy of the Bavarian Forest National Park. Despite massive opposition, this vision has become a pioneering flagship project. Because humans do not interfere with nature, a primeval forest is growing out of the former commercial forests, a unique ecosystem and a refuge for biodiversity.
People from all over the world come here. They are looking for answers to the question of why we need more wild nature and what we can learn from it in order to preserve forests for future generations in times of climate change. (Film rental)

Fantastically filmed wilderness: a touching vision of the future for people and nature. BUND Nature Conservation in Bavaria
It literally pulls you out of your seat: after the first twenty minutes you want to get out into the wilderness, finger the bark of the trees and listen to the rustling of the branches. Munich evening newspaper
The documentary film combines emotions and facts about the largest protected forest area in Europe in an almost perfect balance and shows the rich flora and fauna of the landscape. (…) A friendly invitation to explore the primeval forest (for that is what it has become) for yourself. Film service
